2018-19 Unmet Transit Needs Cycle
As the administrator of Transportation Development Act (TDA) funds for Humboldt County, HCAOG is responsible performing the annual Unmet Needs process. The purpose of the process is to ensure that all unmet transit needs that are reasonable to meet are met before funds are expended for non-transit uses, such as streets and roads. HCAOG’s Social Service Transportation Advisory Council (SSTAC) leads the public participation process and recommends findings to the HCAOG Board.
The cycle of the Unmet Transit Needs Process for Fiscal Year 2018-19 has begun and we would like your comments to include in our spring 2018 report. Your input could help improve transit in Humboldt.
During the month of October, HCAOG and participating member entities, will conduct public hearings to receive your comments on unmet transit needs. Some examples of what you can tell us are:
- How could your commute be improved?
- Which areas aren’t being served?
- Which opportunities are you missing due to infrequent or non-existing service?
- How can your transit experience be made easier?
Comments may be provided at any of the unmet transit needs public hearings or submitted to HCAOG throughout the year via the contact information below. The deadline for public comment for this year’s process is October 31, 2017.
